Bob Warwick retires [18/01/10]
Bob Warwick (Managing Director) retired at Xmas having spent 17 years with GEOfabrics.
He had been originally recruited by Heckmondwike FB (now National Floorcoverings), one of the UK’s largest carpet manufacturers, to establish & manage a unit to manufacture needlepunched geotextiles. This involved commissioning a state-of-the-art line & then growing the new business. The products were launched in the UK market during 1993 & they have become the UK’s class leaders for landfill & coastal engineering applications.
Bob repeated the exercise in 2001 with a manufacturing capability for geocomposites. At 6m wide, the line is thought to be the widest in the world for laminating textiles, nets, grids & membranes.
His expertise will not be lost completely as he will be contributing, on a consultancy basis, to on-going projects that he initiated.
Prior to his time at GEOfabrics, Bob spent time with Don & Low Ltd (as General Manager), ICI Fibres - Terram (as a Technical Consultant) & Tarmac Construction.
